Private Roads - UNPAVED
Shown below are some typical conditions and existing problems. We construct our small jobs like our big jobs. We scrape off vegetation, prepare sub grade and re-compact and process crushed limestone road base with water and large rollers, for a smooth driving surface. We do not use river gravel. Using round rocks and sand on a road is like trying to stack marbles. We want your road to last.
During: Sub grade prepared with 6" deep compacted through for
crushed limestone road base, and shallow ditches on both sides. This
allows compacted road base with crown to be at ground level on sides and easier
to maintain.
After: Road base and ditches completed.
During: Culvert pipes installed and crossing elevated.
After: Crushed limestone road base installed, ditches cut in along
side road and topsoil ready for grass seed.
Before: Wet weather creek crossing. Typical condition of
road, lower than natural ground. Water runs down the road instead of
beside or around it.
After: Same crossing after 36" & 42" culvert pipes were installed
and entire crossing raised, and crushed limestone road base installed.
Before: Typical condition of road lower than natural ground.
Water runs down the road.
After: Shallow ditches cut in and sub grade raised before
installation of crushed limestone road base.
